Israeli Fighting Systems Northern Ireland is a full contact,close quater combat club made up with two sister clubs - UKM.NI and CKM.NI. We train in Urban Krav Maga and Commando Krav Maga which uses effective combat techniques from such fighting systems and martial arts as various styles of Krav Maga (commando krav maga,Lotar,Kapap) : Karate, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Traditional Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Boxing, Muay Thai, Tae Kwan Do and MMA. From these systems and arts you will learn how do deal with reality based situations from the common punches and choke holdsright through to gun, knife and baseball bat defences for example. You will also be trained in situation awareness and important training such as pre-emptive strikes. These techniques are drilled regulary in pressure tests when the studentsare fatigued to help simulate a stressfull situation, they will be attacked with all the attacks in their grading index. Students in UKM will also be tested in free style sparring which will be similar to MMA sparring so will involve striking,takedowns,takedown avoidance and ground work (submission grappling) The training also involves alot of high intensity combat conditioning circuits to build core strength,endurance and speed. We use equipment such as kettlebells, medicine balls, rope climbs, firemans carry and drag, tyre hammering to name a few.
