The Trojan camp has its roots in Thai boxing, producing fighters such as Kirkwood Walker (K1 fighter), Eval Denton, Winston Walker and Pete Crooke, all of whom have held world titles. More recently Trojan has been training MMA fighters, using its experience in Thai boxing as a framework for the standing components of the sport and combining this with grappling techniques from a range of the best sources available.

Trojan has a wealth of experience available to invest in its fighters with a unique breadth and depth of knowledge across it team of instructors. Charles Joseph, one of the instructors who has been instrumental in the camp embracing MMA, has trained many international fighters and has contributed to the training of some of the countries top names including Pride F.C. fighter James Thompson and K1 fighter Pele Reid.

Tony Myers, another instructor specialising in Muay Thai, is an International referee in the sport and is also regarded as one of the countries top Muay Thai coaches. He is a senior sports science lecturer currently teaching and researching at a Higher Education institution in Birmingham. In addition to coaching fighters and officiating regularly both in Thailand and the UK, he delivers seminars in both officiating and Muay Thai both domestically and internationally.

Individually Tony and Charles have over 30 years of martial arts and fighting experience; both regularly update their knowledge base abroad and train with and alongside some of the worlds top coaches and fighters. Tony has regularly trained with and alongside many top champions of Bangkoks main stadiums; Lumpinee and Radjadamnern. In addition to his Muay Thai skills, Charles also has a strong international boxing background, being a qualified ABA boxing coach and training with the former head of the Cuban Olympic boxing team. Charles has also guest taught at Mikes Gym in Holland, teaching the likes of Alistair Overeem and Bjorn Bregy advanced clinch technique.

Another vastly experienced instructor is Sid Parker. Sid is a former British Judo Olympic Team member holding a 5Th Dan in Judo, training at the renowned Tenji University in Japan bringing a wealth of experience in technique and conditioning in grappling to Trojan. Paul Sutherland, another experienced instructor and manager of the MMA fight squad, is a multiple British Cage fighting Champion well known on the British MMA scene for his phenomenal fighting ability. Paul coaches Vale Tudo at Trojan. One of Trojans younger instructors is Ronnie Mann. Ronnie competes professionally in both the UK and Holland in MMA; he is British Grapple and Strike Champion. A Purple belt under Braulio Estima of the Gracie Barra, Ronnie also holds a senior grade in the Tai Jutsu Kai organisation.

In addition to its depth and breadth of fighting and coaching experience at Trojan, the camp belongs to a strong network of fighting gyms across the world. In particular the camp has strong ties with professional camps in Thailand and Holland, allowing Trojan fighters to regularly cross train with some of the top fighters in the world. Alongside the impressive human resources at the disposal of its fighters, the camp has equally impressive physical resources found in its full time MMA Gym based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. The gym is easily accessed by road or rail; the gym is only 30 seconds away from the main train station and ten minutes from the M5 motorway. The well equipped gym has an Olympic standard Tatami matted area, a fourteen foot boxing ring, over nine different sized punch and kick bags, hook and uppercut wall bags, large and small bobs, a soon to be installed caged area, shower facilities and ample parking.

Besides boasting some of the best facilities in the South west, the club has a large and friendly fight squad who train together on a regular basis. Squad sessions are exclusively for the Trojan fight squad members. The sessions are delivered by top instructors and physical training and diet monitored by one of the countries top sport physiologists, Dr Steve Draper. Club fighters are able to seek advice and testing on a range of fitness issues and maximise their training regime. In addition to the experienced resident instructors the camp also brings over some of the worlds best fighters and practitioners to teach at the gym; forthcoming instructors include an all Thailand and double Bangkok Stadium Champion and a Brazilian black belt, World Championships silver medallist
