Our club is a non competion self defence orinetated style based on Shotokan, Kyukushinkai and Choki Motobu Ryu. As the techniques practised are for real life situations they cannot be used in a competative arena for fear of serious injury but are particularly useful for street self defense. Kumite is entered into during the practice sessions but the opponents are heavily protected with body and headgaurds. Due to the dangerous nature of the art it is not open to any person under the age of 16 years.
Note this is a full contact style of karate based on Shotokan, Kyokushinkai and the teachings of Choki Motobu drawing on the elements of all three disciplines to create a truly powerful street defense based martial art.
There are no more than 5 Kata in the sylabus starting with Tekki Shodan at beginners level.
