Genshin Kai Bury opened 14th June 2006 at the Fit 4 Life Health Centre under the instruction of Gary Johnson. The aim of the club is to provide a high standard of martial arts to its members and give them a real practical system of self-protection. Genshin Ryu Ju-Jitsu is a system of self-protection using holds, locks, takedowns, kicks and strikes. At Genshin Kai Bury we don't claim to teach street fighting - THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE. The emotions and chemical releases that the body experiences when you are faced with real violence can never be simulated in the Dojo. For example you can't say, "Stop" or "Can we do that again but a bit slower?" on the street. What we do offer is training in a safe and controlled environment that simulates real life and in turn gives you a fighting chance of controlling your emotions and actions if God forbid you ever have to use your skills.
