Jissen Ryu Shotokan is based in the Wynd Centre, School Wynd, Paisley. The club takes a practical approach to training.
The training is kata based and studies the practical application of the kata. As part of this approach we have an open minded approach to training and welcome visitors from other styles and systems.
Kata bunkai and applied karate is a growing area of study with many people and Jissen Ryu Shotokan is at the leading edge of this training.
The Club is a member of the British Combat Association , the UK's leading practical martial arts association.
Instructor Colin Steel is a full instructor in applied karate under Iain Abernethy, the world's leading expert in applied karate.
